The Scotsman
Well a Scotsman clad in kilt left a bar on evening fair
And one could tell by how we walked that he drunk more than his share
He fumbled round until he could no longer keep his feet
Then he stumbled off into the grass to sleep beside the street
Ring ding diddle diddle I de oh ring di diddly I oh
He stumbled off into the grass to sleep beside the street
About that time two young and lovely girls just happend by
And one says to the other with a twinkle in her eye
See yon sleeping Scotsman so strong and handsome built
I wonder if it's true what they don't wear beneath the kilt
Ring ding diddle diddle I de oh ring di diddly I oh
I wonder if it's true what they don't wear beneath the kilt
They crept up on that sleeping Scotsman quiet as could be
Lifted up his kilt about an inch so they could see
And there behold, for them to see, beneath his Scottish skirt
Was nothing more than God had graced him with upon his birth
Ring ding diddle diddle I de oh ring di diddly I oh
Was nothing more than God had graced him with upon his birth
They marveled for a moment, then one said we must be gone
Let's leave a present for our friend, before we move along
As a gift they left a blue silk ribbon, tied into a bow
Around the bonnie star, the Scots kilt did lift and show
Ring ding diddle diddle I de oh ring di diddly I oh
Around the bonnie star, the Scots kilt did lift and show
Now the Scotsman woke to nature's call and stumbled towards a trees
Behind a bush, he lift his kilt and gawks at what he sees
And in a startled voice he says to what's before his eyes.
O lad I don't know where you been but I see you won first prize
Ring ding diddle diddle I de oh ring di diddly I oh
O lad I don't know where you been but I see you won first prize

You got to make a stand
Well I've come to realize there are really only two types of people in this world, those who love and respect animals and there are idiots. Well there are those who have opened there eyes to there world around them, and those who never wake up, who are happy as flies on shit, to keep there head 'buried in the sand'.
I'm not sure when the seeds were planted for me, and I first became aware, but whenever and whoever helped me, I'm very grateful. I'm just ranting, and not wanting to come across as some sage, Yoda like speak. I've been reading about people and how getting a companion animal has changed there lives. I've had quite a few dogs in my life, looking back. And I think of Yeller (Old Yellow), and his several replacements, one of which was black, and promptly "ran away". Hobie (remember the shirts) Scotty, boy he was an awesome dog, Tango and Cash, Nico, Sterling, and now Laela. I'm skipping several that I've forgotten the names of and I feel bad for that. So that's 8, but probably more like 13 or 14. So wow, that's kind of a lot, and there were years, where I didn't have a dog. My whole entire world has changed when Laela decided to come live with us. Ahhh

My latest hurdle
Well last Saturday, I got up and decided to get this done. I grabbed Laela and off we went. It was a good walk/run. The only problems we encountered were when we got around the dam, and were told we couldn't be up there. So we double backed, and went down this rather steep and tall incline, and crossed a muddy creek, which of course I stepped in with both feet, and sunk almost to my knees. So that was really unpleasent, cause now I have wet feet, my shoes are covered in mud, and I've got mud almost to my knees, and Laela's in pretty good shape, and we still have about 4.5 miles to go. So we continued on, and those people who said I couldn't be up there, and they were handing out fines took off. AAHHHH!!!
Well I learned 2 important things that day, dry feet are a good thing, blisters are no fun. And I've got to keep going with my diet, chaffing stinks too. So enough with the griping and lessons. I was really proud of Laela, she's kind of little, and 9.1 miles is a pretty good little clip. Trying to work up to a half marathon, and wanted to get an idea for the length. My next big goal, is to go around 2 times! That'll be cool.
